Browser DAW

Free online DAW — make music in your browser

MyDawsons is a free online DAW that runs entirely in this tab. Layer instruments, edit patterns, play pads and a keyboard, upload clips, and apply effects — nothing is uploaded to a Dawsons server.

What you can do in the browser

  • Multi-track timeline with instruments, mute/solo, mixer, undo/redo, save/load in the browser, and share links.
  • Step-grid pattern editing, preset patterns, searchable instrument browser, on-screen MIDI keyboard, and an 8-pad drum grid.
  • Upload a clip or drag a file onto the timeline; reverse, pitch-shift, and stack effects (reverb, delay, compression, EQ, and more).
  • Record mic audio or tab/system audio (with browser permission) into the Any Sound row.

What stays on the desktop app

Real song stem separation (vocals/drums/bass/guitar/piano) and tempo/key/chord detection need local compute — those live in the free desktop app, not this static browser page. See song stem separation.

Privacy-friendly by design

The browser DAW is built around Web Audio in your tab. Clips you add for this page stay local to the session storage model — they are not posted to a Dawsons cloud backend from the marketing site.

Common questions

Is the MyDawsons browser DAW really free?

Yes. The browser DAW at mydawsons.com is free to use with no install and no account. The desktop app is also positioned as free and local.

Do I need to upload my audio to use it?

No. The browser DAW runs in your tab. Files you drop onto the timeline are processed locally in the browser for that session — they are not uploaded to a Dawsons server from this site.

Can the browser version split a full song into stems?

No. Full stem separation needs the free desktop app’s local AI pipeline. The browser version can still upload clips for reverse, pitch, and effects, and use voice-to-instrument tools.

Honest scope: browser features run in your tab for free. Full stem separation and heavy local AI models need the free desktop app. Dawsons does not offer YouTube/Spotify audio extraction.
