Voice to instrument — sing it, play it back
Hum or sing into your mic and MyDawsons pitch-tracks the notes, then replays them through instrument voices — or keeps your own voice with scale-aware pitch correction. Try it in the Voice row of the free browser DAW.
What the browser Voice row does
- Mic recording with note-by-note pitch tracking.
- Replay through multiple instrument voices, with optional auto-tune into a chosen key/scale.
- “Your own voice (pitch-corrected)” mode that shifts detected notes onto the scale while keeping your recorded timbre between notes.
- Voice effects such as Robotic and Muffled, plus shared effect stack options (distortion, reverb, delay, compression, EQ).
- Preview and discard before adding a take to the timeline.
Turn a recording into an arrangement
After you record, the in-house producer can build a genre-structured ~2-minute backing (Pop, Hip-Hop, House, Jazz, Holiday, Blues) and loop your take on top as editable tracks. See make beats online.
Desktop vs browser
Voice-to-instrument also exists in the desktop app with a deeper local engine. The browser path is fully usable today for trying the idea without installing anything.
Common questions
Does voice to instrument upload my singing?
In the browser DAW, mic audio is processed in your tab for that session. The marketing site does not upload voice takes to a Dawsons cloud backend.
Can I keep my own voice instead of a synth instrument?
Yes. Choose “Your own voice (pitch-corrected)” to snap detected notes toward your selected scale while retaining your recorded voice between notes.
Is this the same as a commercial Auto-Tune plugin?
No. Dawsons ships an original pitch-correction path built on its own detection and pitch-shift tools. It is not a licensed copy of any commercial plugin.
